While there are many in the community that have earned the respect of others by their actions and accomplishments towards the greater good of the community as a whole. They stood up and did what needed to be done despite those that tried to stop them. I seems that some have put themselves up on pedistools and demanded that others show them respect that was not earned. I find it foolish and unwise to follow anyone blindly simply because they claim to be elders. I feel that if respect is earned I don't mind giving them respect, but not even then will I simply follow them blindly without question. It is in my nature to question everything And my right to demand a viable explanation of their actions and opinions. I find it quite hilarious how some can spout paragraphs of replies and still not

have said anything at all. Yet Im told "Well, he is n elder and you should be respectful." What a crock of bull! The true elders of the community stand up all by themselves. They aren't afraid to argue with anyone over their views. And trust me, I have argued with quite a few over the years. What all the true elders had in common was 1) They didn't consider themselves as elders. 2) They were able to make viable arguments for what they believed. 3) They took the time to examine the views of others and either explained why it is wrong or accepted that it was a valid point. They didn't just dismiss, or resolve to name calling or long meaningless rants. To the true Elders out there I give my utmost respect. To those that think they can demand respect without truly earning it, It is you who are the fools.

Thank you. I just get so frustrated with people that think having your own opinion that goes against theirs makes you a lesser person than them.
